You are reminded that the Pennsylvania Fireworks Law, 72P.S. 9401, ET.SEQ., PROHIBITS anyone from intentionally igniting or discharging consumer fireworks within 150 feet of an occupied structure.
If you need to file a complaint call 911 and give the name and address of where the violation is occurring. Please be considerate of your neighbors !
The Newport Township Board of Commissioners at a recent meeting adopted and amended the following Ordinances: Adopted a New Noise Ordinance. Ordinance No.3 of 2020. Amended ordinance No.3 of 2018 regarding displaying a Township Building permit, effective immediately failure to obtain a Township Building Permit will result in a $100.00 fine. Amended Ordinance No.7 of 2006 to require the appointment of an agent or property manager for a multi-unit dwelling if the owner lives more than 20 miles away from the property.

Smoke detectors, maximum 2 per family, are available free of charge at the Newport Township Fire Station, 1002 Center Street, Wanamie. Newport Township residents can pick them up while supplies last.
Waste Management has resumed bulk item pickup with the regular service. Residents are reminded only one item per household. Please do not abuse this service.
